Hi, I'm Jen!

I just love capturing the personality and expressions of every dog I photograph. As an animal lover and pet parent, you can appreciate the importance of creating a lasting memory, and having a beautiful and lasting portrait of your best friend is where I come in.

Wouldn’t the world be a better place if every person could have that connection? Don’t let precious time pass you by without preserving the memories. I’ve perfected my “Dog Whisper” techniques and find it possible to capture a portrait worth sharing, displaying and treasuring forever.

I have always been a photographer; the magic started when my mother added Mistie to her family. At that time, I started photographing her two favorite things – her new puppy and her first grandson.

Clients ask me how I create such beautiful images with so many dogs.  After photographing four-legged friends for nearly 15 years, it’s just second nature now (plus lots of tricks and treats, of course.) Most importantly, I am patient.

I can’t wait to meet you and your furry friend(s)!

“I had to thank Jennifer at Hatton Pet Portraits once again after having a portrait done of my Malinois Laya 3 years ago. Laya passed away at 14. The gorgeous picture she captured is a lasting memory. The shoot appointment in her studio will always be remembered as a special day.”

Tips For A Successful Pet Portrait Session

  • Bathe and/or Groom your dog the day before the session

  • Walk your dog just prior to coming into the studio (and make sure they get a potty break) - this will help them calm down a bit before stepping in front of the camera

  • Bring soft, chewy, small training treats to reward good behavior during your session

  • Make it personal! Bring your pet's favorite toys, and bring props to show off your pet's personality (and yours!) Clothing for your pets can be fun, too!

  • We will chat all about you and your fur babies before the session!
